The Division of Research is pleased to accept nominations for the following awards through September 14, 2023, 11:59 pm PT:

The Nevada Regents' Awards for Creative Activities are presented annually to two permanent full-time NSHE faculty members with distinguished records in creative activity. One award will be selected from nominations from UNLV, UNR, and NSU. One award will be selected from nominations from CSN, GBC, TMCC, and WNC. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $5,000 stipend. Candidates must have at least five years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination.

The Nevada Regents’ Researcher Awards are presented annually to two permanent NSHE faculty members at UNLV, UNR, NSU, or DRI with a distinguished record in research. One award will be given for Distinguished Career research and one award will be given for Mid-Career research. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $5,000 stipend. 

Distinguished Career Researcher candidates must have 10 years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination and have overall career/service of at least 20 years in research.

Mid-Career Researcher candidates must have five years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination and must have career/service of at least five years but less than 20 years in research.

The Nevada Regents’ Rising Researcher Awards are presented annually to up to three NSHE permanent assistant professors at each UNLV, UNR, NSU, and DRI. Awards are based on early-career accomplishments and potential for future advancement and recognition in research. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $2,000 stipend. 

Required nomination and application materials for all Regents' awards have been extensively revised this year. Nominees must provide a number of materials to support their nomination.

Regents' Awards Guidance documents for each award have been created. Please consult the appropriate Guidance document for additional requirements and more information about collecting, creating, and organizing these materials. Table of contents templates are available.

Any submitted nomination and application materials that do not adhere to the new requirements will be discarded.
