Weekend And Week-Long Trips
Application Instructions
Weekend and week-long trips require a simple application that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. You'll be asked to provide basic personal information, your trip interest, what you hope to gain from the experience, and your anticipated group contributions based on your experiences and knowledge.
For our spring break and May trips, we will typically send more than one trip for the same dates to increase our offerings during academic breaks. You will still only need to complete one application, but you will be given the opportunity to rank your preferences among the several trips planned on those same dates so we can place you into one of your other choices if a trip becomes full.
Please note that a $50 deposit is required to complete your Alternative Breaks trip application. If you are selected for a trip, you will then be responsible for the remaining balance by the established deadline prior to your departure. If you are not selected for a trip, you will receive a refund for the $50 deposit.
Deadlines
Deadlines to register for weekend and week-long trips will be provided on their respective registration pages below, and they are typically three to four weeks prior to the set travel dates.
Mandatory Commitments
Remember to review the trip description for mandatory meeting and travel dates. Be sure to add these time commitments to your calendar.
Alt Break Lite Trips
Registration Instructions
Our Alternative Break Lite trips provide students the opportunity to sample a day similar to what they could expect on one of our weekend or week-long trips but without the need to travel out of town or spend the night with the group. These trips are offered for free and do not require an application; however, students must register themselves following the instructions provided on the AB Lite listings below. Spots on these trips are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Deadlines
Deadlines to register for Alternative Break Lite trips will be provided on their respective registration pages below but are typically by the Wednesday before the trip would occur.
Mandatory Commitments
Unlike the weekend and week-long trips, there are no additional meeting requirements for Alternative Break Lite trips.
