Biography

Dr. Jones is an associate professor in the Department of Hotel Management at the W.F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  His research interests include the fields of environmental, facilities, and housekeeping management.

Dr. Jones has authored a textbook on housekeeping management for John Wiley & Sons, a textbook on convention management for the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, and a textbook on hospitality facility management for Prentice Hall.  He is also the author of several refereed articles, particularly in the area of indoor environmental quality.

He serves on the board of directors of the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI), is a member of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (ICHRIE), and the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA), and in the past, he has served on the board of directors of the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA), and is a past President of the Las Vegas Chapter of IEHA .

He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Dakota, a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Doctor of Education degree from Arizona State University.

His teaching and research interests focus on the lodging and foodservice industries and include housekeeping management; facility management; sustainability management; and front office management.
