Shona Rue is a clinical instructor and lecturer for the School of Nursing. She currently teaches undergraduate courses and labs in health assessment and pediatrics. She has taught online courses in the RN-BSN program and MSN program.
Rue is a nationally certified pediatric nurse practitioner with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) and a fellow member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). She is a certified nurse educator with the National League for Nursing (NLN) and an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International — Gamma Omega Chapter and Zeta Kappa Chapter. She chairs MSN capstone committees and serves on MSN thesis committees. Her research interests are nursing education and pediatrics.
Rue serves as the faculty advisor for the UNLV chapter of the Student Nurses Association and is the School of Nursing Level 1 Coordinator. In addition, she chairs the School of Nursing Bylaws committee, is a member of the Nominations committee, and serves on the University Academic Assessment Committee.
