Biography

Becky Pugh was promoted to associate athletics director for Student-Athlete Academic Services in 2018. Pugh is responsible for monitoring and maintaining institutional compliance with the NCAA, Mountain West Conference (MWC), and University rules and regulations to promote the academic eligibility, success, and retention of all student-athletes participating in the intercollegiate athletics program. She oversees the day-to-day operations of Student-Athlete Academic Services.

In 2002, Pugh (formerly McDonald) started her path at UNLV as a four-year letter winner in the sport of softball. In 2007, she earned a B.S. in physical education K-12 with a minor in adapted physical education. In 2009, she earned a master's degree in athletic administration. She started her work experience in the UNLV Athletics Department as a compliance assistant in 2006 and from there went from assistant director in 2007 to Director for Compliance in 2010. In January of 2013, she stepped into the role of assistant athletics director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Academic Services, which has since transitioned into her current role of associate athletics director in 2018.

In addition to her role, Pugh serves as a member of the following university committees: Athletics Scholarships Committee, Athletics Policies and Procedures Committee, Top Tier Community Partnerships (Athletics sub-committee chair), Community Engagement Council, Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, NCAA Compliance Committee, and Chair of the IAC Bylaws sub-committee.
