Nelly currently serves as the vice president of internal audit. She provides strategic direction and thought leadership in audit approach and delivery of risk assurance services. She drives organizational growth by actively thinking ahead, leading change, and mobilizing resources to seize opportunities. She promotes innovation and fosters an environment where creative and independent ideas that enhance organizational effectiveness are encouraged.

Nelly started with MGM Resorts Internal Audit as an intern in 2005 and has worked her entire professional career in Internal Audit. She is a collaborative, results driven audit and risk business partner who drives the Company to achieve measurable and attainable goals, as well as meeting compliance with applicable regulations. She was selected to be a participant of the 22-23 Accelerated Leadership Program, an exciting and dynamic leadership development program within MGM Resorts International.

Nelly graduated from UNLV and obtained a B.S. in business administration and accounting. She is a member of The Institute of Internal Auditors and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She is also a member of the Global Gaming Women (GGW), and a past leadership development conference graduate. For four years, she served on the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Las Vegas Chapter board as a Treasurer, and is currently a volunteer for the JA Career Success program with the Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada organization.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family including watching her two sons play soccer, and loves to travel.
