Biography

Staff Sergeant Mata enlisted into the United States Air Force in 2018 through Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base. Her Air Force Specialty Code is 3F5X1 Administration, and she has worked on the Commander Support Staff for the past four years. At her first assignment at Lackland Air Force Base, she served on the Commander Support Staff for the Defense Language Institute English Language Center where she also taught 20 hours of military culture to over 200 International Military Students. Additionally, she aided the 37th Training Wing COVID response team that safeguarded 1,500 students in training for 60 days. She also served as the NCOIC of the Commander Support Staff for the 502d Operations Support Squadron, supporting Kelly Airfield. Here she dual-hatted administrative support and secretary roles while organizing squadron correspondence for over 1,600 tasks. As the Unit Fitness Program Manager, Sergeant Mata hosted eighty fitness sessions and twenty fitness improvement sessions, increasing the squadron’s excellence rating by forty percent during her time. Furthermore, as cyber security liaison, Sergeant Mata secured Personal Identifiable Information for 9,225 aircrew records. She averted training delays for 120 special operations personnel and eliminated 60 work hours for aviation resource management personnel. Much of her career has been focused on commander correspondence, acquisitions, and program management.
