Mary Jobes is a clinical instructor and lecturer for the School of Nursing. A UNLV alumna, Jobes began her career in the Emergency Department at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas and developed a passion for health promotion and preventive care. She relocated to Southern California, earned her master’s in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from UCLA, and participated in the creation of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Urgent Care in South Central Los Angeles. The clinic was part of a Comprehensive Health Center serving lower socio-economic residents. Jobes then traveled north and taught at University San Francisco School of Nursing. She has spent a significant part of her career in Occupational Health and was part of the team that established and operated an on-site occupational health clinic at Pixar Animation Studio.
During her classes, Jobes strives to reinforce the value of preventive care and benefits of early intervention among her Family Nurse Practitioner and Community Health clinic students.
