Biography
Emily Huerta earned her B.S. in both Mathematics and Physics and is currently pursuing a Masters of Education in Higher Education at the UNLV College of Education. Currently, she serves as a graduate assistant/data analytics coordinator for NSF EPSCoR HDRFS Education and Workforce Development: Pathway 2. While an undergraduate, she gained experience in advocating for women in STEM, conducting research with Dr. Bing Zhang under the UNLV Physics and Astronomy Department, and she mentored high school students as a Research Education Fellow (REF) with OUR. Her goal is to gain more experience in higher education administration, student affairs, and university leadership to continue her work in both research education and supporting college women in STEM. Outside of her academics, Emily loves watching Star Trek and obsessing over her dogs.
