Edwin Avallone, DO, a hospitalist at the VA Southern Nevada Medical Center, is residency associate program director for the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Internal Medicine.

A graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine who completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Dr. Avallone is an assistant professor, part of the community faculty at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.

Dr. Avallone's interests lie in medical education, clinical reasoning, point-of-care ultrasound, documentation improvement, and interdisciplinary bedside rounding.

His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the ASAIO Journal (American Society for Artificial Organs).
