Additional Information
I am interested in how organisms interact with their environments and adapt to stressful conditions. We have done numerous studies of desert insects and their ability to survive high temperatures and lack of water. My lab also uses experimental evolution to study how physiological systems function and evolve under stress. A current project involves finding genes that affect obesity in starvation-resistant fruit flies.
