Additional Information
Because the state of South Carolina requires 150 credit hours for licensure, the BSBA in Accounting program alone does not meet the educational requirements for licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in South Carolina. The required additional coursework can be completed at UNLV, and applicants may have the option to sit for the CPA examination while completing their additional coursework. The State Board of Accountancy will evaluate each application in its entirety to make a final decision regarding certification. Additional non-educational requirements such as fingerprinting, additional examinations, and work experience may apply. Students who are interested in working in South Carolina should contact the State Board before enrolling in this program.
Students are encouraged to contact the state licensure board to identify specific elective courses that may be required for certification.
