David Hatchett
Biography
David W. Hatchett is associate vice president for research at UNLV, where he oversees the Offices of Sponsored Programs and Research Integrity, division research facilities, and helps accelerate research processes important to faculty success and overall university research goals.
Hatchett is also a professor of chemistry and radiochemistry and studies materials chemistry and electrochemistry in ionic liquids and how they can be affected by electrochemical methods. This includes the synthesis and characterization of polymer/metal composite materials, and the reclamation of useful materials (rare-earth, actinide, radiopharmaceuticals) from either natural materials or fission products.
Prior to joining UNLV in 1999, Hatchett served as a postdoctoral fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology, researching how chemical materials are affected by chemical sensor applications.
