Iris Martinez and Lisa Carnes (both Nursing) each received a $2,500 scholarship from the UNLV Alumni Association. The scholarships were made possible as a result professor Alona Angosta, director of the master of science - nursing program, receiving the UNLV Outstanding Faculty Award this year.

Both students applied for and were recognized for the scholarship based on their work ethic, dedication to nursing, service to the university and community, and academic record. Martinez is an undergraduate, wile Carnes is pursuing a master's degree.
