Rosen Senate

Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) toured the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Nursing with faculty and nursing staff to discuss her work to address the nursing shortage in Nevada.

As many clinics and hospitals play catch up to the nursing workforce shortage, a Las Vegas clinic is going hands-on with their nurse practitioner students. FOX5 reported on Safe Harbor Medical previously, as they are the clinic that had to take on hundreds of new patients after a local affordable healthcare facility shut down.

Candace Burton's (Nursing) article, "'We Come From Different Worlds' The Collision of Caring and Carceral Institution," was published in Advances in Nursing Science (ANS), a scholarly journal that promotes the integration of nursing philosophies, theories, and research with practice. ​
Clariana Ramos de Oliveira's (Nursing) article, "Association between breastfeeding cessation among under six-month-old infants and postpartum depressive symptoms in Nevada," was published in PLOS, a research publication focused on the natural sciences, medicine, and engineering.
Clariana Ramos de Oliveira's (Nursing) article, "Father involvement is a protective factor for maternal mental health in Western Kenya" was published in SSM - Mental Health (SSM-MH), a journal publication focused on the field of mental and behavioral health. 
Rebecca Benfield (Nursing) was recognized for her research as co-author of “Use of External Uterine Electromyography Across Stage I Labor” in the Journal of Midwifery & Women's Health with a Mary Ann Shah New Author Award for 2024. This award underscores the significance of the contribution to midwifery and women’s health.…
