The Jean Nidetch Women’s Center is pleased to offer the Jean Nidetch Scholarship. Below are the eligibility requirements for the Jean Nidetch scholarship. If you are selected for the scholarship, you will be awarded the highest award for which you qualify. Applicants for the scholarship must be formally admitted to UNLV to be considered for an award. Undocumented and DACA students are encouraged to apply.

The Jean Nidetch Women's Center requires that you meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Scholarship:

  • Must be a UNLV undergraduate or graduate student for the academic year
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must demonstrate financial need, per the submission of FAFSA to the UNLV Financial Aid & Scholarships office.
  • Must enroll in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits/6-9 graduate credits during each semester of the award.
  • Must submit one letter of recommendation in support of your need and demonstrating how you overcame adversity
  • Must submit a personal statement, two pages in length, addressing a hardship or adversity you have overcome, personal academic achievement, and career aspirations after college

Awards are available up to $2,500 over fall and spring semesters for four-six continuous years based on availability of funds.
