How Do We Harvest the Bits of Energy Around Us?

UNLV engineering student Angusman Roy explains his team's senior design project — a small device to harvest little bits of energy from the soil and the sun. The energy is stored in "super capacitors," which have a sensor and transmitter and can collect large amounts of data. Such a device could help researchers collect data in the field without the use of batteries. Team members: Sean Crippen, Eduardo Olivares, Yelthin Orochena and Angusman Roy.
