Services & Programs

The following are key programs and services offered to UNLV students:

  • International Welcome Lunch - This is a special welcome event for new and returning international students. Scheduled for the first Friday of every semester, international students have the chance to break bread and connect with the APIME & International Programs team and SDSJ as a whole, and make some new friends with their fellow UNLV students.
  • International Education Week - This national initiative by the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Education takes place every November in the week before the Thanksgiving holiday. Celebrating the enrichment and contributions that international students and scholars bring to U.S. universities, and promoting study abroad opportunities and a culture of global exchange to domestic students, the week’s calendar of events includes events that all have a global focus. The calendar includes Parade of Flags, SDSJ’s main event for the week celebrates UNLV’s international student population.

  • Flags for Events - this is a collaborative initiative between The Office of Student Diversity Programs and Student Union Event Services (SUES). To have the flag(s) of a country(-ies) displayed at your event, request the flag when you fill out the Space Reservation form on SUES’ website, and someone will assist your group with this process. (Please note that this service is offline for the 2020-2021 academic year, and will return contingent on SDSJ’s physical reopening after the pandemic.)
