Signature Authorization

Very few individuals on campus have authority to sign a contract. The University has developed a signature authority approval process for the campus. For assistance with this process, please contact your department’s designated Purchasing Representative.

More than $1 Million, OR more than 5 years (including indefinite or open-ended terms), OR modification when original approved by the Chancellor

  1. “Recommended:” UNLV Dean/Director [attach Chancellor Routing Sheet]
  2. “Recommended:” UNLV Vice President, Director of Athletics
  3. “Recommended:” (1) UNLV Senior Vice President for Finance and Business, and/or (2) UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost
  4. “Approved as to Legal Form and Content:” UNLV General Counsel
  5. “Recommended:” UNLV President
  6. “Approved:” NSHE Chancellor

$100,000 and up to $1 Million, OR between 1 year and up to 5 years

  1. “Approved as to Legal Form and Content:” UNLV General Counsel or OGC attorney initials
  2. “Approved:” Senior Vice President for Finance and Business

Under $100,000, and up to 5 years

  1. “Approved as to Legal Form and Content:” UNLV General Counsel or OGC attorney initials
  2. “Approved:” Director of Purchasing and Contracts
