Administrative Faculty Professional Development Grants

UNLV is committed to supporting the professional development and growth of our administrative faculty. We recognize that employee training and development programs improve individual and organizational performance and help us achieve our institutional mission and goals.

Program Overview

The Administrative Faculty Professional Development Grants are designed to enhance the University’s organizational infrastructure and capacity through investment in its human capital. In support of the “infrastructure and shared governance” goal of the Top Tier Initiative, these grants have been established with institutional funds reserved for the professional development of full-time administrative faculty members at UNLV. The program will fund competitively awarded grants of up to $1,000 for individuals or up to $2,000 for groups. The granted funds may be used for professional development opportunities that are not covered by budgeted departmental funds or by the grant-in-aid program available to full-time faculty members of the University.

What is Professional Development?

Professional development refers to the process of acquiring new knowledge and skills to grow in one’s chosen profession.

Here at UNLV, we believe professional development is for everyone. I encourage all administrative faculty members to take advantage of the many opportunities we offer for their professional development and career advancement.

Chris L. Heavey, Ph.D., Executive Vice President and Provost
