New Faculty

Welcome!

On behalf of the entire university community, the Office of Faculty Affairs congratulates you on your recent appointment. We are delighted that you have chosen to join the UNLV faculty and become part of our highly collegial and accomplished group of academic professionals.

The qualifications and experience that you bring to our campus makes us better equipped to fulfill our institutional mission. We feel confident that you and other members of your faculty cohort will contribute greatly to the progress of your respective departments and colleges and of the institution at large. We value your energy and enthusiasm and are excited about the unique ways in which you will shape knowledge and engage with students and other faculty on this campus.

In order to make your transition to UNLV as seamless as possible, we have planned a New Faculty Orientation event on August 16, 2018. The program will acquaint you with the mission, values, and strategic goals of the University. It will provide you with information and advice for a productive start to your career here and introduce you to resources and services to support your work and promote your long-term success. During the event, you will meet colleagues in your cohort as well as senior faculty and administrators in key leadership roles.

The new faculty information page contains information on tasks that you should complete before the New Faculty Orientation and provides helpful links. We encourage you to spend some time on our website and take advantage of the information available to you. This site is designed to supplement the information you will receive from your department about unit-specific orientation events and onboarding processes.

During the coming fall and spring semesters, we will facilitate additional opportunities for you to network with other faculty. Please visit our website regularly for updates and announcements.

Again, welcome to UNLV. We look forward to seeing you in August—and working closely with you in the years to come!
