Interim President Chris Heavey serves as UNLV's chief executive officer, providing institutional leadership and ensuring the effective coordination of academic, administrative, and financial priorities. He works to promote a culture of excellence and innovation, foster campus-wide collaboration, and strengthen the university’s role as a vital contributor to Nevada's social and economic well-being.
One UNLV Listening Tour
The Listening Tour is a campuswide initiative designed to engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners in open dialogue about the future of UNLV. Over the course of this tour, feedback will be gathered through group listening sessions and comments submitted online.
What's Happening
Fall 2025 marks another historic milestone as UNLV surpasses 33,000 students and reaches new high for both graduation rate and total graduates.
Huajing Maske will lead the institute in promoting intercultural exchange, Mandarin language learning, and Chinese cultural understanding.
Maxson led UNLV from 1984 to 94 through expansion of graduate programs.
