Wenlian Zhou

Biography

Dr. Wenlian Zhou, associate professor in residence, joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine during fall 2004 and teaches pre-clinical orthodontics, general dental clinic, advanced elective orthodontics – clear aligner therapy, clinical diagnostic conference – grand rounds within the Doctor of Dental Medicine program, as well as mega and general clinic courses within the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on emergency department visits of non-traumatic dental conditions in Nevada. Her research interests include obstructive sleep apnea’s oral intervention; oral maxillofacial growth and development; the comparison of dental education and licensure system between the United States and China; and clinical dentistry related areas.

Dr. Zhou earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from Beijing Medical University, her Ph.D in orthodontics from Peking University Health Science Center, her doctor of dental medicine and master of public health with a health care administration and policy concentration from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Dr. Zhou is an active member of the dental communities at large and is a member of the following professional organizations: American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, Nevada Dental Association, Southern Nevada Dental Society; and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
