Soo Kim joined Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies in Fall 2018 as an assistant professor. Her research mainly focuses on health communication such as food marketing targeting children, electronic cigarette advertising, and advergame. Other research interests include digital advertising, green advertising, and public policy in marketing. Her work has been published in International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Health Communication, Preventing Chronic Disease, Journal of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Internet Research. Kim earned M.S. in mass communication from Ewha Womans University and Kansas State University, and expects to earn her Ph.D in Media and Information Studies from Michigan State University.
