Shekinah Hoffman, M.A. is Special Project Coordinator at UNLV IGI and pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology. Her quantitative and qualitative research areas focus on the gender leadership gap and challenges for women in casino gaming management. Hoffman received her Master’s in Sociology from UNLV. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, she graduated from Colorado State University and American University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor’s in Communications. In D.C., Hoffman also worked at the American Gaming Association (AGA), overseeing a wide variety of industry initiatives like Global Gaming Women, an educational program for women in casino gaming.
At IGI, Shekinah is responsible for the development and management of special projects and educational programs related to diversity, community, and industry relations. She manages the Young Executive Scholars (YES) Hospitality & Tourism Program, an educational experience for Las Vegas' under-resourced youth.
