Biography
My main research interests lie at the intersection of philosophy of science and experimental philosophy. I use the empirical tools of cognitive science and psychology to conduct experiments that will help elucidate traditional debates in the philosophy of science. My current project assesses levels of scientific integrity within different disciplines. Specifically, I’m comparing differences (if any) between researchers in “ethically-driven” sciences (conservation biology, epidemiology, etc.) and the “hard” classically descriptive sciences (physics, biology, chemistry).
I have secondary interests in applying Carnap’s method of explication to various debates in the philosophy of logic, philosophy of mathematics, and socio-political philosophy.
