Associate Professor Robin Reinke joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine during the spring 2012 semester and teaches Heath Care Delivery: Patient Records and HIPAA Regulations, and Advanced General Dentistry Seminar I and II within the undergraduate dental program. Dr. Reinke also serves as assistant dean for Clinical Services, an overseeing faculty in the general dental clinics, and a mentor to students participating in research projects.

Dr. Reinke’s research focuses on oral health literacy. She is studying ways to increase patients’ understanding of their oral health by creating educational interventions targeted for specific demographic identifiers. She received a Dental Trade Alliance Foundation grant related to this research, and has done collaborative research with Harvard University School of Dental Medicine on the subjects of work well-being and dental diagnostic terminology. She presented during the 2016 ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition related to research about the use of student evaluations in dental and dental hygiene schools.

Dr. Reinke is a member of the American Dental Association, Nevada Dental Association, Southern Nevada Dental Society, American Dental Education Association, and the American Society for Dental Ethics. She is a dental licensing examiner for the Western Regional Examining Board for Dental Licensing and the Central Regional Dental Testing Service. She is also a Fellow of the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning and the ADEA Emerging Academic Leaders Program, and a recipient of the 2016 Omicron Kappa Upsilon Charles Craig Teaching Award.

During 2018, she will become a Fellow of the ADEA Leadership Institute, which is a year-long program designed to develop the nation’s most promising individuals at academic dental institutions as future leaders in dental and higher education.

Dr. Reinke serves on numerous committees within the dental school, is the Quality Assurance officer, and the representative for the Consortium for Oral Health Research and Informatics. Her community activities include volunteering for the school’s monthly Women’s Dental Clinic, and serving as a delegate for the Southern Nevada Dental Society.

Dr. Reinke earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, WA; her Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in health services from Keller Graduate School of Management, DeVry University, Federal Way, WA; and Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Washington School of Dentistry, Seattle.
