Robert A. Danforth

Biography

Dr. Robert Danforth, professor-in-residence, joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine during spring 2006 and teaches various oral and maxillofacial radiology courses within the undergraduate and graduate programs.

Dr. Danforth’s research focuses on dental radiation dosimetry and the use of 3-D cone beam computed tomography imaging and portable x-ray devices in dentistry. This research has resulted in several papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Danforth earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from Loma Linda University during 1968, and his Certificate in Oral Pathology from the University of Florida during 1979.  He has held Diplomate status for the Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology since 1982.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and the American Academy of Maxillofacial Radiologic Technicians.
