Professor Robert Correales was selected to begin serving as the first UNLV ombuds starting Jan. 1, 2013, after an internal search. Correales has been a member of the UNLV community for 14 years, arriving in 1998 as a member of the original founding faculty of the William S. Boyd School of Law. His teaching areas include evidence, torts, employment law, employment discrimination law, workers’ compensation, product liability, and disability law.
He has served as chair of legal defense for the Nevada Faculty Alliance for several years. He also has served on the Board of the Council for Legal Education Opportunity, the American Bar Association Scholarship Committee, the UNLV President’s Advisory Council, and the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation. Correales is also a trained arbitrator and mediator.
