Biography

Patricia McRae Baley (administrative faculty) is the visual resources curator for the Department of Art, which she joined in 1996. Raised in Arizona, Michigan and Colorado, she received her BFA in painting and sculpture (and minor in art history) from Colorado State University (1981) and her M.A. in art history from The University of Memphis in Memphis, TN (1989). In addition to her curatorial duties, Patricia teaches the three Art History Survey courses (Art 260, 261 and 266). A member of the Visual Resources Association (VRA), she served on its Executive Board as secretary (2001-2003) and is the 2012 recipient of the VRA's Nancy DeLaurier Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Visual Resources. She served as a member of the ARTstor Digital Library Advisory Board (2015-2016). She lives with her husband conductor and composer Virko Baley and their dog Daphne and volunteers with the Nevada Conservation League.
