Mirella Jasso (she/her/hers) currently serves as the Graduate Assistant for Social Justice Programs. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and is currently in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Masters Program at UNLV. As a first-generation student of two LatinX parents she personally understands the struggle of being a college student and the additional struggles of being a student coming from a minoritized background. She has a passion for helping students from marginalized groups navigate college and become student leaders on campus. Mirella has completed and presented 2 independent research projects on the experience of ethnic minority student-athletes. She has experience working as a peer mentor, creating and presenting workshops for student leaders, and creating/leading events on campus to address student needs. Mirella is also a huge fan of Mexican food, anime, and hiking.
