Lori Olafson, Ph.D.
Interim Vice President for Research and Economic Development
Lori Olafson is an experienced research administrator and professor who has been a member of the UNLV community for more than 20 years.
Olafson has an extensive background in research compliance, serving as the executive director of UNLV's Office of Research Integrity from 2012 to 2016 and as associate vice president for research from 2016 to 2018. She was appointed interim vice president for research and economic development in January 2020.
Olafson joined UNLV in 1999 as a professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Higher Education. She earned a Ph.D., Master of Arts, and Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan.
