Lisa Wable is an instructional artist at the Office of Online Education. Lisa has worked within the Nevada System of Higher Education since 2005 including eight years with the Desert Research Institute. She has 14 years of experience in higher education and biomedical/natural science research environments. Lisa received her bachelor of science degree in biology from California State University - Stanislaus, her doctor of chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West, and her master's degree in biomedical communications/medical illustration from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
Her areas of interest include the creation and utilization of visually-based learning objects with emphasis in illustration and animation in the biomedical and natural science fields. Lisa’s graphics and illustrations have appeared in textbooks, government publications, and many peer-reviewed journals, including Nature, PNAS, Nature Geosciences, ISME, Quaternary Science Reviews, among others.
