Dr. Katrina Liu earned her Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with specializations in teacher education and educational leadership and policy analysis. Dr. Liu's current research includes preparing critically reflective teachers for transformative learning, developing self-sustaining communities of practice for teacher professional development, and understanding social capital and resilience among teachers of color. Her work has been published in journals such as Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, Educational Review, and The Social Studies. Dr. Liu has also secured and managed several grants including a Fulbright Group Projects Abroad award for teacher professional development overseas and a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater outreach grant to support teachers to implement personalized learning in their classrooms.
