Biography

Before James Wright became a Senator for Health Sciences in the CSUN Senate, he served as a Resident Assistant within Housing & Residential Life and a Peer Educator for the Student Diversity & Social Justice departments and still does to this day. He also works for the American Heart Association on the Advocacy team to research about Social Determinants of Health Policies.

His goal has always been to reach greater heights and self improve, but also uplift others along the way. James helped form the first E-board of the Men of Color Alliance and was the MOCA secretary then continuing to help as the public relations officer, creating events such as the Cross the Line, MOCA Talks, and managing day to day activities and projects. Always trying to help people of color, James finally became CSUN Health Sciences Senator with plans to help bring awareness to mental health issues & stigma, and student youth that are underrepresented and create a bridge for students to learn about their resources on campus. He hopes to accomplish his missions and goals by being in the Scholarships & Grant and Constitution & Bylaws Committee.

His motto and favorite quote, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted"- Aesop.
