Biography

Itzel Alanis is a research assistant and program coordinator for the Young Executive Scholars Hospitality & Tourism Program (YES) and Battle Born Girls Innovate (BBGI)—both part of UNLV International Gaming Institute’s Expanding the Leaderverse initiative.

She is a 2019 UNLV alumna—earning her bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in sociology. During her time as an undergraduate, Alanis was awarded both the Sociology Research and Writing Award (April 2019) and the C. Wright Mills Award (April 2018).

Alanis is trilingual in English, Spanish, and Japanese (intermediate), and in her free time she can be found listening to her favorite K-pop band—BTS.
