Gillian Pinchevsky, Ph.D.
Associate Professor & Internship Coordinator
Gillian M. Pinchevsky is an associate professor of criminal justice in the UNLV Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. She received her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2013. Her research primarily focuses on criminal justice and community responses to violence against women. Recently, Pinchevsky has conducted research on specialized domestic violence courts, police perceptions of domestic violence, and untested sexual assault kits. She is also working on research related to victimization experienced by college students. Her research has been published in a number of refereed publications, including Violence Against Women, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and Trauma, Violence, & Abuse.
Pinchevsky also serves as the Internship Coordinator and co-directs the Trailblazers Program, which was designed to provide support for first-generation students in the Department of Criminal Justice. She received the 2018 Greenspun College of Urban Affairs Excellence in Teaching award.
