Biography
Dr. Gandia obtained a B.A. and a master's degree in Translation and Interpreting (Estudios Avanzados de Traducción e Interpretación) in Universidad de Granada, Spain. She received her Ph.D. in Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain. Her dissertation is on the Spanish translation of free software licenses. Her research interest is focused on the areas of teaching spanish as a foreign language, translation, and interpreting. Before arriving at UNLV, Dr. Gandia taught at the Escola Politècnica Superior de Gandia (Universitat Politècnica de Valencia) and in 2009, AECID (Spanish International Cooperation Agency) awarded her a scholarship to teach in Dalian University of Foreign Languages in China.
She has published articles on Audiodescription, Spanish and Using Textual Genres to Teach Spanish as a Foreign Language. Currently, she is doing research on Legal Translation and Interpreting.
