Adjunct Faculty, DRI Hydrology
Dr. Moser is a microbial ecologist focused on life in the terrestrial and marine subsurface, lakes and oceans, and arid lands and their use for a range of practical applications (e.g. bioremediation and water reuse). He utilizes a combination of cultivation-based and molecular life detection methods, in conjunction with environmental and stable isotope chemistry, to track the activities and identities of microbes in their natural habitats.

Moser directs the Environmental Microbiology and Astrobiology Labs at the Desert Research Institute (DRI), directly across Swenson Street from UNLV. He collaborates frequently with UNLV faculty and advises students and postdocs. His students obtain their degrees from the UNLV School of Life Sciences, but perform research using the facilities of both DRI and UNLV. His labs provides a range of opportunities for student involvement (please contact Dr. Moser for additional information).
