Duaa Murtaza

Associate Justice



Duaa is a third-year pre-law political science and philosophy major at UNLV. Serving as the President of UNLV Buddies, Duaa is in charge of supervising a cohort of 70-80 mentors who tutor Title 1 elementary school students with math, reading, and writing -- along with anything else the kids might need. In addition to her extensive involvement with registered student organizations, Duaa is an officer of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, wherein she inhabits the role of Committee Chair of Career and Professional Development. In her other position within the College of Liberal Arts, Duaa is employed as the Lead Peer Mentor, where she deftly manages the college’s freshman outreach program. Duaa also serves as the student representative on the Industry Leader Advisory Council. Finally, in the academic realm, Duaa is an active member of Phi Alpha Delta and Pi Sigma Alpha, two respectable, student-led organizations that focus on highlighting exemplary students.

Upon graduation, Duaa intends to attend law school so she can specialize in human rights law. Aiding women with asylum-seeking, immigration, and domestic abuse – Duaa ultimately seeks to open a pro-bono clinic through which she can advocate for marginalized women in the Middle East.
