Cheyenne Cuizon is the Assistant Director of Academic Transitions and Learning Support (ATLS) in the Academic Success Center (ASC) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Education in Higher Education from UNLV. Cheyenne has over 10 years of experience in higher education, including serving as a(n) Academic Success Coach, Academic Advisor, New Student Orientation Coordinator, First-Year Seminar Instructor, Scholarship Coordinator and most recently the Acting Coaching Coordinator. This experience has helped Cheyenne hone in on the best practices for student learning, achievement, and retention, progression, and completion.She believes that her knowledge of and passion for higher education and student success can be reflected in her higher education experience. In addition to serving as the Assistant Director of ATLS, Cheyenne serves as a financial coach. She believes that every student should have the opportunity to develop financial literacy skills.
Though Cheyenne’s passion for higher education was piqued while serving as Vice President of student government at Barstow Community College in her hometown of Barstow, California, it has truly thrived at UNLV. Cheyenne now calls Las Vegas home, and enjoys the excitement and energy of living here.
