Biography

Charlie Zobell teaches News Reporting and Writing. As an adjunct faculty member at UNLV, he has taught that course for more than 20 years. He also has taught interviewing and politics and the media. He is a recipient of the UNLV Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Part-Time Faculty Member. He was a reporter, city editor and managing editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal for 35 years; and most recently was director of digital media at KSNV-News 3 in Las Vegas for two years. He served as director of intergovernmental affairs for the city of Las Vegas for three years and was a lobbyist for the city at the Nevada Legislature. Charlie is editor of Trailblazer Media, Ltd. He is president of the Nevada Freedom of Information Coalition and former president of the Las Vegas Chapter, Society of Professional Journalists. He is a former member of the boards of United Way of Southern Nevada and Safe Nest. He is doing research on two Western history books.

Education: B.A.in Communications / Print Journalism Emphasis, Brigham Young University.
