About New Faculty Onboarding
For faculty, onboarding at UNLV is a three-step process:
As an Employee
The Office of Human Resources onboards all faculty and staff as employees to the institution. The office processes all contractual paperwork and facilitates employee benefits and payroll. The office also provides support and services to enhance your personal and professional lives.
As a Faculty Member
The Office of Faculty Affairs orients all faculty hires to UNLV’s academic units and resources, including faculty processes, policies, and services managed by the Provost’s Office. The office also introduces faculty to professional development and leadership resources as well as networking and mentoring opportunities.
As a Member of Your Unit of Hire
Your unit of hire will orient you to your role within the unit. For administrative faculty, your unit will introduce you to unit staff and share unit expectations. For academic faculty, your unit will share unit bylaws, introduce you to unit staff, and outline any disciplinary expectations.
