USACE Decision Document

Decision documents are defined as all feasibility studies, reevaluation studies, and reports associated with preparation of an Environmental Impact Study.

As a result of the land once being part of the Nellis Small Arms Range Annex, environmental remediation is required prior to the land being conveyed to UNLV, therefore it was requested the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) complete its munitions investigation and, if necessary, response action at the site.

In February 2016, USACE secured funding to conduct the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) which identifies the type and extent of munitions that may remain on the property. The RI/FS is incorporated into a Decision Document that summarizes the remediation assessment of the property. Once the investigation is completed, USACE will identity alternatives for remediating the site.

The Decision Document for the Nellis Small Arms Range Annex for the UNLV-Las Vegas Study Area, Munitions Response Site 02, Project Number – J09NV051002 can be located in its entirety on the USACE website.
