Nevadans only recycle one out of every four eligible items. Experts say increasing that is simple
For more than 30 years, Nevada has asked households to recycle 25 percent of qualified materials — plastics, paper, aluminum and more. It’s not a mandate. And in 2021, Nevada’s division of environmental protection said 24 percent had been reached. That means just one out of four recyclable materials are thrown into the light-blue recycle bin in Southern Nevada. Part of the reason it might not be more is that people still have questions over what is and what isn’t recyclable.

Culinary Members at Sunset Station to Derecognize Union as Their Representative
Recently, members of Culinary Local 226 at the Station Casinos facility made the decision to withdraw the union as their official representative. Decision on the desertification of the union: Most of the Culinary employees at Sunset Station, which is located in Henderson, have signed a worker-led petition to officially derecognize the union, according to the local casino operator. In addition, in June four years ago, aka in 2019, nearly 80% of employees decided to vote for union membership.
