We Need Diverse Books: Libraries Seeking Suggestions For New Collections Representing UNLV's Community

A Salvadoran cookbook. The latest manga. A Bollywood hit. The University Libraries are seeking your recommendations for our newest collection, “Represent: UNLV Community Selected Collection.”

UNLV students, faculty, and staff are invited to nominate a title that is representative of your identity, history, or culture. The goal of the Represent Collection is to diversify the kinds of items available through the Libraries and be a better reflection of one of the nation’s most diverse university communities.

You can nominate a title for inclusion in the collection using our online form

This pilot program, launched in conjunction with UNLV’s Minority Serving Institution Week, is being funded by the Libraries Dean’s Leadership Circle.

Types of suggestions may include (but are not limited to):

  • Children's books
  • Biographies
  • Cookbooks
  • Graphic Novels
  • Poetry
  • Movies
