UNLV Equity Institute: Join the pilot fall 2021

The Faculty Center and the Office of Online Education present the UNLV Equity Institute online course on creating inclusive, equitable, and effective learning environments for a diverse student body.

The four-week course runs from Oct. 18 to Nov. 18 as a cohort-based model delivered through Canvas (WebCampus), and provides a $500 stipend. Modules include topics, such as the institutional equity mission, supporting student success and pedagogy.

The course will be most useful for those with classroom teaching roles. However, the course is adaptable for a variety of people in teaching-related positions, including advisors, librarians, student affairs professionals, and others. Participants can expect to spend about 2 hours per week on work that can be completed asynchronously, although the course will have a synchronous launch meeting.

Participants in the fall 2021 cohort will be invited to become facilitators in future sections.

Register now to join the fall 2021 cohort. The registration deadline is Oct. 11.

For more information, contact Melissa Bowles-Terry, director of the Faculty Center and course facilitator.
