On Monday, Aug. 10, the UNLV Student Union is scheduled to begin a limited reopening of services to the campus community. In order to focus on health and safety, the facility is planning on remaining open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Monday-Friday) at least through Labor Day. There will be no weekend hours. However, these hours may be adjusted to meet event or programmatic needs of campus. Our most current information can be found online.
Our focus remains on providing as safe an environment as possible as we prepare for fall semester's start on Aug. 24. Social distancing, limiting access points, mandatory facial covering use, extra cleaning protocols, line and queuing, and some limited services will be in effect.
According to information available right now, on Aug. 10 SoHo Sushi Burrito, Panda Express, and Grouchy John's coffee truck will be available at the Student Union. On Aug. 17 we also will open the POD Convenience Store and Starbucks. On Aug. 24 we will open Jamba Juice and Subway. Taco Bell and Steak & Shake only will open if the demand from campus requires it. For those of you who are used to a very busy Student Union for dining options, we expect fewer people on campus. This means if you have avoided us in the past due to volume, we now should be able to meet your needs. Dining seating will be limited, however, due to social distancing guidelines. Aramark's information on Student Union dining is available online.
For events, we have limited capacity to serve UNLV's in-person event needs. These are to be done in accordance with current UNLV and state guidelines. The most recent event services information also is available online. Our event spaces have been established with new maximum capacities that support in-person meetings. We are cleaning all surfaces prior to and between all events.
We are here to support the campus as best we can during these times.
