STEM Summer Camp Needs Instructors, Offers Discounts for UNLV Employees & Alumni

The 2019 UNLV STEM Summer Camp is a three-week summer program for high-achieving middle and high school students who are interested in attending college to pursue a major in a STEM discipline. Sponsored by the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering, this program is intended to foster a learning experience in various STEM disciplines, to increase college retention and graduation in the longer term, and to enhance a spirit of student success for prospective UNLV students. Applicants must be entering middle school or high school in the fall 2019 semester to register this summer. Applicants who are expecting to graduate from high school at the end of spring 2019 semester and enter college in fall 2019 semester as a freshman college student also may apply to this program. Online registration is available.

Call for Instructors: Current UNLV faculty in STEM disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal to teach a STEM-related, one-hour course for three weeks, Monday-Friday, from July 15-Aug. 2 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Classes will be held within the Engineering Complex this summer. Contact the director to discuss any further details. Discounts for UNLV Employees & Alumni: UNLV & NSHE employees and UNLV alumni are eligible for a 25 percent discount when paying for their children. Students must already be registered online and parents/guardians may use the discounted payment form. Scholarships and grants are available. GearUp and Calculus Project students may be eligible for free registration. Registration details and forms are available online.
