Sendoff Reception for Anna Smedley-Lopez Dec. 12

Anna Smedley-Lopez, director of student and community engagement in the College of Liberal Arts, is headed for new adventures in her home state of Arkansas.

The campus community is invited to attend a sendoff reception in her honor on Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., in the Beverly Rogers Literature and Law Building (RLL), Room 101.

She earned four degrees from UNLV and has been a member of the Rebel family for 13 years as both a student and faculty member. She is a community-based participatory researcher and service-learning practitioner who previously served as assistant professor-in-residence in the department of sociology. She is the founder and program coordinator of Service Learning Initiative for Community Engagement in Sociology (SLICES), and winner of the UNLV office of community engagement Service-Learning Award and the College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Teaching Award.

Please join us in celebrating her many contributions to the campus and surrounding communities and wishing her well in her future endeavors.
